Coloured Concrete

Coloured concrete is achieved by adding metal oxides to the concrete truck’s mixing bowl mix to produce the desired colour, before it is delivered to site and poured.

The coloured concrete we use is known as ‘vertically integrated’ or ‘full depth coloured concrete’ because the colour has been blended through the entire concrete mix, and not just applied to the top layer.

MPA Concrete Solutions only use the best pigment concentrates available on the market which offer a permanent, natural looking coloured finish.

Coloured concrete is suitable for all outdoor areas including:

One of the biggest advantages coloured concrete offers is that is smooth on feet but has a brushed finish meaning it’s not slippery.

Coloured concrete also has more depth than plain concrete, so it provides a more customized look than plain white concrete. When the colour is chosen correctly, it should blend into the surrounds or provide a subtle contrast with your property to enhance street appeal or the exterior areas where it has been laid.

The price point of coloured concrete is in between plain concrete (lower end of the scale) and exposed aggregate (higher end).

A couple of important considerations with coloured concrete:

• Over time you should expect that coloured concrete will fade slightly. If this is a concern for you, consider opting for exposed aggregate which will maintain its colour
• We also recommend applying coat of satin sealer every two years
